GROUNDMAN/APPRENTICE

Tanner Electric Cooperative (TEC) is seeking a hard-working individual to join our team as a Groundman in our North Bend Office. The successful candidate must have permanent residency in the Snoqualmie Valley within thirty minutes of Tanner Headquarters.  Additional prerequisites for consideration include a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid WA State drivers’ license, and candidates must be be at least 18 years of age.

Summary Job Description

The primary responsibility of the Groundman is to support the work of the Journeyman Lineman and the Apprentice Lineman by performing assigned tasks. This is an entry level position in the line of progression for Journeyman Lineman. The Groundman performs various manual labor tasks to assist crew members such as loading and unloading supplies and materials, cutting brush, digging ditches, and preparing materials for the Lineman to install. Groundman are expected to learn the Lineman job through on the job training, as well as, through classroom-type training provided by the Cooperative. The groundman reports directly to the Line Foreman.  Performs work that includes day to day operations and activities of the Operations Department requires an in depth knowledge of the Cooperative's policies, procedures, safety rules  and state and federal rules and regulations. Requires excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to take directions from the crew. The work includes exposure to outside environmental conditions those being both heat and extreme cold, wind and snow at times. All resumes must be received in the North Bend office by the close of the business day (5:30 p.m.) on February 16, 2021  *Please read the Full Job Description and Qualifications below before you apply
