Construction Updates

2009 Planned Major Projects include:

• Undergrounding approximately ½ mile of overhead on SE 170th (North Bend)
• Replacing ½ mile of older underground on SE 160th (North Bend)
• Replacing existing older underground starting at Ames Lake substation heading west to NE 50th then north on 264th ending at Union Hill Road (Ames Lake)
• Replacing overhead taps off of Lake Josephine with underground (Anderson Island)
• Replacing overhead on North side of Island with underground to improve reliability (Anderson Island)
• Replace 1 mile of old underground in the area known as the "Tree Farm." (Ames Lake)
• Upgrade underground line that feeds Quail Creek and Amesbury for additional load (Ames Lake)
• Finish with the "Truck Town" area cable replacement and reliability improvement project (North Bend)

2009 Maintenance Projects in all (3) service areas:

• Transformer Maintenance*
• Tree Trimming by our crews
• Infrared overhead in the North Bend Area**
• Pole testing and change outs in North Bend**

* Installation of new copper jumpers and connections to each individual service. Installation of new fused cutouts and bird/animal guards to help prevent small isolated outages

** This maintenance program started in Ames Lake in 2008 and will conclude on Anderson Island in 2010. This will help us identify areas of concern so we can be proactive with repairs and replacement before outages.
